It’s been nearly a month since Donald Trump was given a landslide victory and he is on his way to being the 47th President. Honestly, I was thrilled that night when Americans gave him an overwhelming victory.
But since that post, I got several messages wanting to know why I would support Trump considering I’m someone with Gender Dysphoria and have been living as a "woman" for many years now. Well, besides the fact that Trump surrounded himself with some amazing people, yes, I was concerned by some of his rhetoric when it came to the issues of Trans folk. But to say only one issue should define a favoured politician then there lies the problem.
Politics has become so tribal now and identity politics are to blame. As is, what I was expecting, is the pendulum swing against Trans issues.
Indeed, the President-Elect has stated that he will move to make the Federal U.S. Government only recognise two genders and they’re assigned at birth. I, like many who have transitioned and lived as normal a life as possible without creating waves would no doubt be concerned about this. But the fact is, the Trans Lobby has themselves to blame. I am surprised how quickly this issue has raised its ugly head and the pendulum swing began. But it started, in my view, with the election of Sarah McBride to the US Congress. Instantly hard-line Republicans moved to set a precedent on the use of Bathrooms in the U.S. Congress.
Well, when many headlines run title heads of “The First Transwoman Elected to the Congress” it’s a return of the Identity politics that has caused all of this.
As opposed to McBride simply coming out and saying something like their transition is a side issue and it's just part of them but ultimately they’re a Congressman-elect and nothing else. Considering Congressmen have private bathrooms to begin with, McBride had an opportunity to shut down the issue by refusing it oxygen in the press by simply stating it wasn’t surprising parts of politics would seek to use them as political pawns and refuse that by calling out the fact that Trans issues have gone off the wall and that they didn’t want to create waves over it. Instead, McBride and the Trans lobby went off the walls and played the victim card. This is why these politicians are going to swing the pendulum the other way and transitioned individuals are under threat.
On the subject of bathrooms a dear friend of mine said to me “There were always transwomen in women’s bathrooms but it was so rare. They usually made every effort to try and blend in or pass and although it was uncomfortable, ultimately I would just think if you wanted to give up rolling out of bed in the morning comb the hair and out the door in the same clothes and not lining up for 20mins at an event to use a toilet, then welcome to hell.”
That was the reason why, even if that was uncomfortable, it was accepted for Trans people to use the bathroom of their “lived gender” because there was gatekeeping and ultimately we would try and “pass”. Isn’t that the whole premise of gender dysphoria?
Well, the Trans lobby has gone so far with this that we saw the introduction of “Self-ID” laws, which removed all the gatekeeping and opened the door for those with no diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria to exploit the system. It is not to say that all trans people are predators but the fact is, Self-ID opened the doors to threaten women in intimate spaces.
When you have folks like Dylan Mulvaney who openly mocked women with stereotypes and was put on a pedestal for being a “Trans Role Model”, when you have another “influencer” who went Topless on the White House lawn, when you have Lia Thomas using women’s locker rooms whilst still in tack and just openly walking around in the locker room and when you have social media with a bunch of folks stating they had their first “trans period”, millions of pronouns and genders well let me state this.
This isn’t Gender Dysphoria or normal behaviour!
Seriously what did you think was going to happen?
You figured this would create acceptance?
Well, let me tell you, no one with legitimate Gender Dysphoria would do these things. These events alone have set back the lives of those with Gender Dysphoria immensely.
It is why we have seen once allies and even those who were once supportive/tolerant go the other way and want our existence and livelihoods affected. A prime example of that is commentator Megyn Kelly. I am a massive fan of hers, but last week she summed up what the trans lobby has now done. She was talking about the fact that when she gets a mammogram she doesn’t want to see a Transwoman there in the waiting room. Why? Because she doesn’t want to be in the same room as someone who she now thinks is getting a sexual arousal out of being there.
Well, Megyn, I will be needing to get mammograms as part of my regular health checks moving forward and I can assure you that I would never find anything sexual about it. But sadly there are a large amount of men who would indeed pursue transition for these reasons and someone like myself is now tied with that. It makes me sick to my core!
The issue here is that the Trans lobby was successful in ensuring there was tolerance in society for those with Gender Dysphoria and it was never better. But tolerance wasn’t enough for them and the crazies took over. They wanted full-on acceptance and instead, that pursuit has pushed the issue towards intolerance. Right now the question is, how is the response going to work?
Well right now, it’s time for the sensible folk who have transitioned to speak up. You know the ones who do everything possible to try and pass in life, to not make waves, believe “to each to their own”, know biology exists (I mean doesn’t that prove Gender Dysphoria?) and more importantly believe in LEAVING THE KIDS ALONE!
President-Elect Trump is not just a New York Businessman but a Real Estate Businessman. He wants to create deals. Well many politicians do too. So, it’s time for the sensible Trans folk to speak up and lobby for a sane and logical discussion without the emotion and identity politics that the trans lobby has done for so long.
Trump stated that Federally he wants to make the US Government only recognise two genders assigned at Birth. Well, that’s fine. Every country had that until self-ID laws came in. So let’s start there. To get a gender marker changed on identification then you petition the Federal Court with proof of your diagnosis, proof of living as said gender for a period, evidence of any medical interventions and that ultimately this is purely just a “convenience” step. Yes, this is costly to do, but transitioning is a costly venture. But by doing this simple step it removes the threat of the exploitation of Self-ID laws and provides the same gate-keeping that needs to return ASAP.
I have no confidence in the trans lobby and its activists doing such a thing and that’s why I’m bracing myself for some difficulty in my life moving forward. But if WW3 is prevented, our foods and soils are improved, there's accountability for Big Pharma, cuts to Government waste and I have more money in my pocket? Well in the grand scheme of things then that is far more important than the use of a public bathroom.
When you transition you accept there are things that you to give up in life (like playing sports if that’s your passion - duh!) The damage to the lives of folks like myself living with Gender Dysphoria was slowly done over the last decade and it’s muddied the waters and it’s why we see ourselves here now.
It’s time for some sane, common-sense discussions on these issues, an end to Self-ID and a return to the gatekeeping. Only time will tell where we go from here.
